EMR Updates
The Digital Health team has a continuous improvement mindset and we’re always interested in hearing from you about changes to the applications we manage to support you in your day-to-day duties. It’s all part of our focus on Best Care at Western Health.
Based on your feedback, here is a summary of the changes we’ve made to the EMR in 2024:
We want to improve safety by embedding age-appropriate opioid dosing.
We have created a new Order Set for PRN Analgesia with the appropriate age filters.
We want to change over to insulin pens to improve medication administration safety and cost savings.
We have updated all Insulin Order Sets to include the insulin pen dosage form.
We want to know about any changes to the appearance or functionality following the Annual EMR Code Upgrade.
To find out about the minor changes and enhancements you may notice after the Annual EMR Code Upgrade, view a short two-minute video or a one-page summary
We need a way to audit the diabetes population coming to Western Health and improve patient outcomes.
Created a powerform for endocrinologists to enter patient information. This information pulls into a new section in the medical officers’ workflow page.
We want a Pharmacist Partnered Medication Charting (PPMC) note template to support the Pharmacists’ workflow.
We have created a PPMC note template.
