EMR Updates
The Digital Health team has a continuous improvement mindset and we’re always interested in hearing from you about changes to the applications we manage to support you in your day-to-day duties. It’s all part of our focus on Best Care at Western Health.
Based on your feedback, here is a summary of the changes we’ve made to the EMR in 2024 and 2025:
We want to improve the clarity of the field that records the unit the patient is referred from for Outpatient Referrals.
We renamed the field “Referring Unit” to “Referred From Unit” to improve clarity when placing an EMR referral order to Medical, Allied Health, Nursing Outpatient Clinics, and Cardiac Diagnostics.
We want to transition Rehab at Home to EMR. This includes receiving referrals and documenting.
We created a new inpatient order called ‘Rehab at Home IP Referral’, also a new note type called Rehab at Home Note.
Add Media Gallery to ED Nursing workflow mpage.
We added ‘Media Gallery’ component to ED Nursing workflow mpage to enable nurses to tag and add images into documents.
We want to remove the default SH number in the call back for the current neonatal quick orders.
We have created a new set of folders for JK NBS with prefilled numbers, and a set of folders without on the Neonatology Quick Orders mPage.
We want to create a PPROM order set in EMR to help facilitate accurate prescribing.
We have created a new orderset for PPROM with the appropriate linking and offset of orders.
