An important update for radiology will be taking place in July, with Synapse PACS to be upgraded to the latest version.

This update will deliver a number of benefits for clinicians by ensuring we are using the most up to date technology. The new version Synapse 5, is a web based version which will be compatible with all Western Health browsers, and the upgrade will take place over a weekend on a date to be finalised.

Radiology workflows will not be affected during the upgrade weekend, however a temporary PACS server will be in place during this time.

This server will store four weeks of historical imaging, and while older imaging will not be available, radiology reports will be.

If older imaging is required for viewing over that weekend (ie- for elective surgery), please contact the PACS administrators for relevant imaging to be transferred to the temporary server.
