The Change Champion Network now has over 110 members and this link between the EMR Phase 2.1 project and staff across the organisation is important for the success of the project as we approach Go-Live in April– May 2023.

The first meeting of the EMR Change Champion Network will be held on 31 March 2022 at 3pm. If you haven’t yet registered your interest, please complete the short expression of interest form, it is not too late to get involved.

Many of those who have already signed up have spoken of their enthusiasm for the upcoming EMR additions and changes.

“I love seeing how advancement of IT can be incorporated into the daily nursing routine,” one user said, while another said “I am keen to implement change and make life easy for better health”.

Other staff expressed an interest in developing their skills in team leadership and helping to support their teams through the upcoming implementation, while several staff said the relationship between technology and clinical care was of great interest to them and they were looking forward to exploring this as a member of the network.

So far, 45% of the network is made up of Nursing & Midwifery staff, 15% Allied Health, 15% administrative/clerical and the remaining is medical officers, pharmacists or ‘other’. The majority of our members so far are from Sunshine, so we need more representatives from other sites!

“We know that effective change is organisation-led rather than project-led, and a Change Champion Network brings a strong people-centric lens to engagement and adoption,” EMR Phase 2.1 Change and Implementation Manager Jo-Anna Wood said.

“It’s great to have a large number of people from across the organisation already, but we’d love to have more. If you want to be part of leading this important change in your area, please get in touch.”
