An important upgrade to Western Health’s Synapse PACS system will take place in April, which will help improve the performance of the system for users.

The upgrade will commence from 8pm on Friday 14^th April, and is expected to be completed on the afternoon of Sunday 16^th April.

During this time, staff will need to use the Synapse Downtime web link to access PACS, while external access will be available via Citrix.

In addition to this:

• Four weeks of historical studies will be available via the Synapse downtime link
• The URL links to images in EMR reports will not function during upgrade period.
• Radiology requests can continue to be ordered in the EMR and Radiology reports will continue to be available in EMR
• No MIX imaging transfers will occur during the upgrade window

Following the upgrade, staff will be able to operate Synapse PACS as they have previously. There will be no changes to the interface or links.
