The Nurse/Midwife Initiated Medications folder has been updated to include the following midwife initiated medications:

• Lidocaine (lignocaine) 1% injectable solution
• Water for injection

This change has been endorsed by the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee and aligns with corresponding procedures listed below:

• Women’s Services DP-CC2.2.2 Sterile Water Injections for the Relief of Back Pain in Labour
