Outpatient radiology ordering
The ordering of outpatient radiology has been made easier with the changing of the term “Paper Order Only” to “Outpatient Order (If yes, Print Requisition)”. See graphic of the new wording above.
This field will automatically default to “No” if the order is placed on an inpatient encounter, and “Yes” if the order is place on an outpatient encounter.
These changes have been made to help streamline the ordering of outpatient radiology, as well as improve terminology for ordering clinicians.
Please remember that for outpatient radiology requests, clinicans must print the requisition and hand it to the patient or directly to radiology to book the appointment.
For further information please see the Quick Reference Guide Radiology – Ordering for Outpatients on the QRG page of this site.
