HealthLink is now live for clinical documentation!
Western Health is transitioning to HealthLink as our new Secure Message Delivery (SMD) platform, starting Tuesday, 15 October 2024. Secure messaging plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient exchange of information between Western Health and GPs and other clinicians.
After a successful pilot with a small group of General Practices (GPs), HealthLink has proved to be a reliable platform for delivering clinical documentation securely and efficiently.
Starting today, we will begin sending the following clinical documentation to GPs and clinicians via HealthLink:
- Clinician letters
- Cancer multi-disciplinary meetings
- Inpatient/emergency discharge summaries
- Pharmacy medication lists
- Referral encounters
- Referral outcomes
- Outpatient appointments
- Inpatient admissions and discharges
- Death notifications of inpatients and in emergency departments.
For the time being, PulseNet will remain to send mother/baby discharge summaries, endoscopy reports and cardiology investigations, which will transition to HealthLink at a later date.
Once HealthLink is fully implemented, all clinical correspondence from Western Health will be delivered electronically.
Western Health’s General Practice Integration Unit can assist GPs and Practice Managers with the transition to receiving clinical documentation via HealthLink. It is important that GPs follow the important steps as outlined in the recent correspondence to General Practitioners and Practice Managers via the NWMPHN catchment, which is available on the Western Health website.
