EMR Super User News – January Edition

Welcome to the third edition of the EMR Super User Newsletter – a monthly newsletter to keep you informed about all things Super User.

Remember that in order to register as a Super User for EMR Phase 2.1, you need to complete this short online form. (Please use Microsoft Edge or Chrome to open this form)

Hopefully by now you have caught up on the exciting news that Western Health will be going live with EMR Phase 2.1 in July 2023!  Go-Live preparation is  really ramping up, and you as Super Users will play a vital role in that. Catch up on the Go-Live Announcement here.

We now have over 600 Super Users from across the EMR sites, thank you so much for joining this highly valued team!

We are continuing to work with Western Health Managers and Leadership to ensure that every area and team has Super User support at Go-Live.

Please keep encouraging your colleagues to join up!

  • Training information kiosks & Ward Walkarounds

Training Information kiosks will run again in February (dates below), giving staff an opportunity to visit for a personalised chat with the Digital Health team about EMR Phase 2.1 training and to seek general EMR support. Please encourage any colleagues new to the organisation to pop down and ask any EMR queries.

The Training Information Kiosks will run from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on the following days:

    Site  Location  Dates in 2023
Footscray  Outside the security office near main reception  February 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th
Sunshine  Outside the public Pharmacy on the ground floor  February 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th
Williamstown  Ground floor staff breakout area, near courtyard  February 8th

In addition to the Training Information Kiosks, the Digital Health team will also be visiting wards at our EMR sites between 13th – 17th and 20th – 24th February. These Ward Walkarounds will give staff an opportunity to chat about upcoming EMR education opportunities, get assistance with signing up for Super User or other WeLearn training, and generally find out more about EMR Phase 2.1. And all from the convenience of the wards!

Digital Health trainers are currently liaising with NUMs, MUMs and unit heads to find the best time for each ward, and full details on when and where the team will be visiting will be published here.

    EMR Training

The EMR Super User training schedule is being finalised. Bookings via WeLearn will open in February and Super User training will run for two months, commencing early April.

Super Users will receive in-person training that is specific to their role and work area, and there will be multiple sessions available to choose from so you can find a time convenient for you. We will let you know when bookings open so that you can book yourself a spot!

The EMR Phase 2.1 WeLearn Modules will be launched in early April, and all Western Health EMR users will need to complete the module/s relevant to their role and work area prior to the EMR Phase 2.1 Go-Live in July.
