Initial Patient Assessment Powerform amended to clarify that EMR diet orders are the single source of nutrition truth
The “Premorbid Dietary Requirements” box has been removed from the Initial Patient Assessment Powerform which is filled by Nursing & Midwifery staff on patient admission and throughout the patient’s stay. While this box was once required, it has become historical due to the integration between EMR diet orders and the menu management system.
The removal of the “Premorbid Dietary Requirements” box ensures clarity regarding the identification of EMR diet orders as the single source of truth on patient nutrition requirements.
All patient nutrition requirements are entered upon patient admission as diet orders placed in the EMR and are integrated with the menu management system.
