Drop in to an EMR Specimen Collection Future State Validation session

The EMR Point of Care Specimen Collection Project aims to improve patient safety and enhance the workflow for all staff who collect pathology specimens by using barcode scanners to identify patients and accurately mark specimens as collected.

This project needs the input of all staff who collect pathology specimens (nurses, doctors and phlebotomists) in order to validate this new workflow and incorporate your feedback to ensure the project is a success and makes a positive impact.

We will be running “drop in” sessions at Williamstown, Footscray and Sunshine Hospitals as below, where all staff are welcome to attend at any stage between the listed times for a demonstration of the scanners and to give their feedback.

These sessions will be held at:

  • Footscray Hospital on Wednesday July 3rd between 2 and 4pm in the 3 West Meeting Room
  • Sunshine Hospital on Thursday July 4th between 2 and 4pm in PBL Room 4 (WCHRE Building)
  • Williamstown Hospital on Friday July 5th between 2 and 3pm in the Boardroom
