Initial screening of Emergency Department patients for COVID-19 is now documented in the EMR.

All patients who present to Western Health Emergency Departments will have the Initial COVID-19 EMR Screening Tool completed during their Emergency Department stay.

A Quick Reference Guide (QRG), ‘COVID-19 EMR Initial Screening Tool’ is available on the QRG page of this site and provides information on how this tool is to be completed and viewed.

Recording this information on the EMR will provide visibility of the screening activity to all clinical areas of the health service via the COVID dashboard
