In an effort to better understand the barriers for clinicians not scanning patient wristbands in the MAW, the Digital Health team has added two additional reasons for override into the system.

All patients should still be scanned in the MAW to ensure PPID, however if scanning is not possible please select an appropriate option from the drop down menu shown below.

New reasons for not scanning a patient’s wristband now include ‘Patient Under Contact Precautions’ and ‘Unsafe to Scan’.

Please ensure you select the correct reason for an override to enable the Digital Health team to better understand workflow issues.
